On November 28th, 2018 Penn Robotics got invited to take part in an international event called Community FIRST. This event shows that the worldwide FIRST community is connected and they cooperate together to be able to reach out into each teams’ area and spread the word of FIRST. The overall event has been taking place for the last 3 years now and has had over 180 teams in over 18 countries hosting outreach events on the same day. For our event we had a table at the local Barnes and Noble to connect with local children and adults and talk about FIRST. At this event we talked to about 40 people, kids and adults, showing them how our robots worked and talking about what we did before, during, and after the build season. We also brought 3 FTC teams along with their robots to give them an opportunity to show what the Penn Robotics program entails.
